How to use the Strokes Gained Golf Stats Calculator

1.Select the lie and distance you played your shot From

2. Select the lie and distance you played the shot To. (where the shot ended up)

3. Select Add Shot. The Strokes gained number for the shot plus the SG Total number (Strokes Gained number for all shots), will appear.

Games and Skills Challenges

  • What is your Putting SG number for an entire round?

    1.Enter the distance From which each putt was hit and the distance remaining after the putt was hit

    2.Do this for each putt during during your round

    3.You will see the Strokes Gained values for each putt, plus the Total SG number for all putts added together.

    ***Putting distances should be entered in feet and not yards.

  • What is your Short Game SG number for an entire round?

    1.Enter the distance and lie From which each short game shot was hit and the distance and lie remaining after the shot was hit

    2.Do this for each short game shot during during your round

    3.You will see the Strokes Gained values for each shot, plus the Total SG number for all short game shots added together.

  • How high can you get your SG value after 10 putts?

    Game Rules:

    1.Pick any distance from the hole and putt until you hole out.

    2.Once you’ve holed out from your first distance, then pick your next.

    3.You can pick the same distance for your next putt or change it up

    4.When you’ve hit your 10th putt your game is done.

    5.Enter the putts as you complete them

    6.Highest SG score after 10 putts wins

  • How high can you get your SG value after 5 shots from random locations?

    Game Rules:

    1.Pick any distance and lie from the hole and hit your shot.

    2.Record the shot in the SG Calculator

    3.Change the lie and distance for each shot

    4.When you’ve hit your 5th shot your game is done.

    5.Highest SG score after 5 shots wins

  • How high can you get your SG value after 5 shots from the same lie and distance?

    Game Rules:

    1.Pick any distance and lie from the hole and hit 5 shots from that location.

    2.Record the shots in the SG Calculator

    3.When you’ve hit your 5th shot your game is done.

    4.Highest SG score after 5 shots wins

  • Create your own games and compete against yourself or your friends.

  • Hit any short game shot or putt, enter the data in the calculator and see how your result compares to that of a PGA Tour player.

    The average PGA Tour player performance has a value of zero for each shot.

    It’s easy to have unrealistic expectations of your own game if you don’t understand what the best players in the world are capable of.

  • Create a standard game for yourself around the chipping, pitching or putting green, with set lies and distances for say 5 shots.

    Track your SG number for the 5 shots and see how you can improve on it over time.
